If a mommy rabbit isn't getting enough food will she attack her own babies?

    Your kits are still nursing. If they are only 3 weeks old they are just learning to nibble on hay and still need mothers milk for 3-5 more weeks. You should be feeding the doe all the hay she wants, some and free feed the pellets now that the kits are running around the cage and starting to eat. They should never run out of food. And NO veggies. Rabbits should be at least 4 months of age before you introduce veggies. So no veggies for the mom until the kits are weaned at 6-8 weeks of age.

    If she is stressed from not having food, it might make her angry but I doubt if she would kill such a large kit over it. I think it is more likely that a rat did the damage than the mother rabbit though I could be wrong.
