You're reading Did the "scientists" who asked to "debate" Al Gore ask to debate any actual scientists, like those on the IPCC?
Comments
EXACTLY!!!
New York, New York – Scientists skeptical of man-made climate fears meeting at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change in New York City described the “absolute horror stories” about how some scientific journals have engaged in “outrageous and unethical behavior” in attempting to suppress them from publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals. The March 2-4 groundbreaking conference, which featured about 100 speakers with over 500 people attending, presented the report of a team of international scientists who formed a group to counter the UN IPCC. ~ http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=865dbe39-802a-23ad-4949-ee9098538277

You missed the point entirely. The concept was that the scientists were willing to take on a politician, rather than their equals. Which would imply they know that the IPCC scientists have a better position.

@ Tallyman: I love how your quote stops just before the article proves it's own bias. " [Note: The author of this report attended and participated in the conference.]"

Gore just said that the temp of the Earth is several million degrees if you go 2 km down. I believe that you'd be melted if you had something several million degrees less than 2 miles away.
The surface of the Sun is about 10,000 degrees. It's about 12,000 degrees in the molten center of the Earth and about 1 million in the hot part of the Sun.
2 km down it's several million degrees according to the High Preist who claims to predict the future temp of the planet for the next 100 years.
Interesting to know that it's hotter just a few thousand feet down than it is on the Sun. I always thought that it was around a thousand degrees.

And exactly what measurement system are all of those readings in exactly? Fahrenheit? Celsius, Kelvin? Are you comparing equivalent values?

British judge finds errors in Al Gore's film:
Mr Justice Burton identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Mr Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration”.
