Yes, it is possible to convert any vehicle with an automatic transmission to one with a manual transmission. The main issues is the cost of the converstion. If it's an older car, you can put in a non factory transmission. My suggestion would be to talk to a local machinic. Factors to think about are the cost and age of the car you are planning to convert, what benifits would be gained by converting to manual and in some countries a drivers licence only allows drivers to drive automatics.

And in MOST contries the Manual must be used on a driver's test. The Manual is standard in those countries. In America, usually about 80% of all cars are automatic. In most every country in Europe it's the opposite. Why? Because if you are lazy and want to drive an automatic, you will suffer poor performance compared to a manual vehicle of the same year and model, and most importantly manuals get better gas mileage by at least 10% on most models. That's the difference between 29 mpg and 33 mpg. It's that simple. That's why you mostly see manuals on drag strips. Better performance.
