Yes, my moms vains would not take another transfusion. They tryed a new crap in a needle, it was supposed to go right to her small intestines, whee all nutrients go, she died.
I also know a family that refused to have their daughter transfused (religious beliefs) she had her tonsils out, needed blood, got none and died. She lived on our street.

    • I'm sorry for your loss, as my Grandmother also died recently I can sympathize with the emotional turmoil you are in, but don't let it cloud your reasoning abilities.
She did not "need" a blood transfusion any more than she needed a 5% solution of silver nitrate, cocaine or if these don't work, a 10% solution to chemically cauterize the tonsil bed, or constrict blood vessels in it to reduce bleeding.
Or, electrocauterization, or even better yet, some or all of the above along with better management before during and after surgery, and post operative care to stop bleeding before it became so dire, and better screening to prevent surgery or bettter prepare a person to endure it.
A lot of things can be blamed for a death following surgery, to jump to religion right away is not really... you know...

    • Also if veins are so damaged that they can not transfuse, the fault does not lie in whatever attempt they make to use alternatives, but in the poor condition of the patient.
If they do nothing the patient dies, if they use blood same, alternatives, good chance of working, is that a valid attempt to discredit alternatives?
