Not only is it now legal, it is quite rewarding. Beer is not very hard to make. While you can easily foul up a batch if you are not careful, be sure to follow STRINGENT sanitary guidelines and you cannot go wrong. Beer kits are phoney, as it is not very hard to make a batch of beer. Making beer can be time consuming, but kits really do not produce beer that is much better than most big label brands. American beer as a whole sucks. It is mass produced, made with inferior ingredients (BUDWEISER) such as rice and corn, that makes sophisticated European countries that have been brewing for centuries, scoff at the idea of drinking our beer(and who could blame them?). American beer also is treated with chemicals to increase the shelf life. Don't ask me why, but that kinda is the reason they've been using hops as a natural preservative for the last 600 years. Homebrews are great, they're better than alot of the beer you'll find in a store, and they make great, heart-felt gifts.
