My guess is he doesn't. Just ask him to do something, if he doesn't then what do you do? Most 4 y/o's won't do what you ask of them immediately. Either they do not understand what you want them to do, or like all of us, don't want to do it now. They may not want to be reminded of what you tell them to do it now, they want to delay the action, so so called to be in control of their actions and do it in their own times, or perhaps they see no need to do what you want them to do. I would say, most ADD or ADHD if not all, should be called 'lack of parents' to say 'NOW', 'NO' or 'IMMEDIATELY' and repeat their wording a second time before the belt or cane comes out and using it. I bet that if parents of this so called dis-order, were to stand by the NO, NOW and IMMEDIATELY followed by the belt or cane, ADD and ADHD would disappear overnight. All parents, get tired by their young kids, by repeating over and over again the word; NO. Most parents give in, thus then the kid knows, crying, mis-behaving do whatever, they will win in the long run. If the parent gives two warnings, before the belt or cane hits them, they know where they stand. Instantly, ADD and ADHD is no more a medical problem.

    • Obvioulsy you have not read anything about these disorders, your ignorance is evidence to that. My son has ADD and has NO behavioral problems at all. He only has problems focusing and retaining information. Should I cane or belt him for that too? HORRIFIC

    • Well I can agree with the fact that parents don't know how to say NO. Save the belt and cane part, a little extreme, I am all for spankings when appropriate, but that's a little much. But the answer of ADD as teachers accuse kids of having, is pretty much an excuse for teachers and parents to avoid doing their job and duty.

    • I will go out on a limb hear and guess that you have no medical degree, and have based your opinion on no research, credible resources, or even an objective opinion.

You spew conjecture as a fact and infer that it will cure all cases of ADD, and ADHD if all parents would just give two warnings to there child before they spank them.

I feel sorry for any one listening to this counter-factual presumption based on no known medical fact. I do however love how the wording is humorlessly CAPITALIZED to beguile the reader into a pseudo intellectual posting of how to cure ADD/ADHD.
