What is Obama's position on gun ownership? It seems like the more he talks, the less he says.

    Obama's position is to leave gun regulations to local governments, a basic conservative priciple. As President, he has no jurisdiction over D.C., or Chicago, or Dallas. People in places that don't have gun restrictions don't have to fear that their guns will be taken away, and people in places with strict gun control laws can challenge them on a local level. His only national policy is to support the assault weapons ban.
