If I wanted to be sent to prison, what is the least damaging crime I could commit that would send me there?

    When you say "least damaging" I conclude that you mean the least amount of victims or the least amount of impact on the victims. These would include:

    Fraud - There are so many kinds of fraud that can land you in prison such as money laundering, stolen credit cards, check fraud, grand larceny and filing fake tax returns in order to get a refund.

    Counterfiting - Money obviously is the big one. But you can counterfit other things like checks, game tickets, designer clothing, etc..

    And then there are others such as getting on the plane with a gun or going on a cruise and bringing back a large amount of illegal drugs in your luggage.
