Help answer this question below.

Swimwear has been getting progressively skimpier ever since the sixties. Will, one day, all beaches end up being nude beaches (I'm not saying that's a bad thing)?

In some nations, such as Sweden, Denmark, and Germany most beaches allow nudity. The US may soon begin allowing more of its beaches to be nude as well.

    • California has many nude beaches. San Francisco alone has four. San Gregorio State Beach, about 8 miles south of Half Moon Bay, is the first nude beach in the USA, so designated in 1967. Baker Beach in San Francisco is the most popular in Northern California.
San Mateo County has three that I know about, Grey Whale Cove, San Gregorio, and Pomponio. Santa Cruz County used to have nude beaches, but Four Mile Beach is no longer a nude beach, as is Bonny Doon. Red White and Blue Beach is closed. Marin County has several nude beaches, Black Sands Beach considered the best.
San Francisco is noted for its tolerant attitudes, even to the extent of same-sex weddings in its City Hall.
