What is the best way to go about cleaning the lens, without opening my Xbox?

    From prior experience, I think the easiest way to clean the lens is to run a CD/laser disc cleaner. If you have never used one before, it's essentially a CD with tiny brushes on it that, when played in the Xbox or any other disc reading electronic device, sweep over and clean the lens. You should be able to find such a disc at any electronics store (e.g. Circuit City, Good Guys, Best Buy, Radio Shack).
