Help answer this question below.

Why do some Christians forgive heterosexuals who kill, rape, steal and break other Commandments but they condemn homosexuals who aren't breaking commandments? Isn’t breaking a Commandment the worst of all sins?

    Because God tells us to.

    Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

    Mark 11:25-26 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

    About condemning homosexuals, we do that because the Bible teaches that they are an abomination to God. Since I am not a homosexual, they are not trespassing against me, nor does what they do harm me. There is nothing for me to forgive. It is my job to try to help them repent of this grave sin against God, and to help them see that what they do IS wrong, but I can not forgive them for something they did to me, 'cause they haven't done anything to me. I am to be kind to them, yet try to get them to see they are in error.

    1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

    Homosexuals fit every category mentioned in the above verse.

    If a homosexual does repent, and stops practicing his/her immoral lifestyle, then as a Christian, I am to rejoice. If not, then:

    2 Thessalonians 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

    That means not to accept Homosexuals as "normal" people in our society. They are not to be given equal status with people who are not abominations to the eyes of God. They should be ashamed. They need to not be proud of their lifestyle. By endorsing it we become implicit to their sins, and I will not do that.

    Breaking a commandment is a sin. There is no sin worse than any other.

    James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

    If you break any, you've broken all. There is none worse or less bad than any other.

    • Question based on false premiss. Adultery & fornication roundly condemned throughout Bible. Homosexuality covered in this.

    • Fornicators would be a better word. God has never sanctioned same sex relationships. Such relationships are condemned in both the Old and New Testaments.

      but aren't all people fornicators? I mean, everyone has sex (well, most people).

    • No, everyone is not a fornicator. Fornication is sex outside of the covenant of marriage by an unmarried person. Adultery is sex outside of marriage by someone who is married. God has never said that sex within marriage is wrong. As a matter of fact one of the very first commandments He gave us was to be fruitful and multiply. We can't do this without sex. So, sex within marriage sex is part of God's plan for us. It's just when we indulge in sexual relationships outside of the marital relationship that we are in trouble.

    • Alright...so gay people are sinning by fornicating...but we can't get married because marriage has always been between a man and a woman, and that means that we can't ever change (even though, you know, years ago marriage was between one white man and one white woman or one black man and one black woman and never both)
      So really, god says we can't get married, then says we can't have sex, because we go against what he designed us to be (because, you know, we're just choosing to be gay...right). So I guess I should look forward to a wonderful future of total abstinence, or of being repressed in an unsatisfying heterosexual relationship which will be a total lie, but hey, I'll have kids, right? And it'll make God happy.

    • The Bible does not say anything condemning interracial marriage. That was a man-made rule. The Bible does speak against homosexual relationships.

      Oh, it does say you shouldn't marry your slaves though, and it does condone slavery, so, when you connect one to the other...

      Why can't people see that this is the same issue we were fighting years ago, it's the same fight, the same arguments, just with a slightly different slant.

      Honestly, you're not worth my time and aggravation anymore. I don't need you or your god to support me to know that our creator loves me and my girlfriend regardless of what you think.

    • LordRahl, in repsonse to you saying, "because marriage has always been between a man and a woman", I would just like to point out that that is false. CHRISTIAN marriage has always been between a man and a woman, but marriage itself existed for thousands of years before Christianity (or even Judaism) existed. Don't trouble yourselves with some as contradictory as the bible. My recommendation is to live a good life, be true to yourself and what you believe is right, and don't let other people (whose lives are filled with their own inequities that they rarely acknowledge) tell you how to live your life. You can still live a judicious, righteous life and will be rewarded accordingly. Blessed be.

    • alright so we established homosexuality as a sin. But God does say that there is no sin that he will not forgive if you give your life to Christ. So here is my question: Why do you ignore that? Homosexuality is a sin. And sin is sin is sin is sin. So God being God is merciful and gave His son Jesus to die for all sin. ALL SIN!!!!!!!
      Why is it that you self richious Christians knock us down? You all sin and lead 'godly' lives! I am a gay Christian. I know that God doesn't approve of it, but I do know that He forgives me for it as He does for the rest of my sins. Maybe you should go talk to a TRUE CHRISTIAN and see how God wants us to live!!! He tells us not to judge and to love our brothers in Him! You pass your own judgement on us, but you forget this: You aren't the one who gets to pass out judgement! I think you need to take a serious look at the Bible and spent some soulful time with Him and realize that you aren't a True Christian but a self-richious jerk! Get off your pedistal and remember that God is merciful, loving and forgiving! So don't you dare tell us that we are going to hell because we are gay! Unless you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you shall go to hell.

    • God also calls on all men to repent of their sins. Part of repentance is giving up your sins. Am I perfect. No, I am far from it. I do sin and I am constantly attempting to overcome my sins. I am also constantly falling short. Which means that I must also keep repenting.

      In stating that God condemns homosexuality, I am not condemning anyone who is homosexual. I am just stating what God has said about it. Yes, God has provided the means by which we can be forgiven through the blood of Christ, but this does not mean that we can ignore His commandments. If we are not striving to live in accordance with His commandments, are we really showing that we have faith in His Son? James tells us that faith without works is dead. If we are not striving to do what God has commanded, then our faith is meaningless.

      Again, I know that I am far from perfect. I have a very clear understanding of many of my faults. I am constantly striving to overcome them with varying degrees of success. I am also not condemning you or anyone else. I am just telling you what God has said. It is up to you to decide whether you will accept it or not. It is also up to you to pursue a relationship with God according to the dictates of your own conscience.

    • Listen to you all arguing about what god says or doesnt say, its ridiculous - like frogs arguing about the wider world from the bottom of a well. God doesnt say anything and never has done. Man wrote the bible, man, not god. And man claimed that what he wrote was the word of god, its beyond arrogance. If there was a god, then im sure it would be appalled at what man condemns in its name. Homosexuality is not a sin, you have just been told that it is from people over 2000 years ago who wrote according to the time they lived in. Im not sure which is worse, that some of you believe what your told to believe, or that you use it to condemn others who dont fit the mold dictated by either, the people from long ago, or the religions that sprang up to peddle the myths as truths to exert influence over the population.

    • Glenn, you dont know its true, you just think you do - how do you know god speaks through the prophets....oh i know, cos they say so. Well they would wouldnt they. There may be a god and if there is im pretty sure its nothing like the one wrapped and peddled by organised religion. Just becuase you have been taught something it doesnt make it true. Also why is your god real, yet other gods such as isis or osiris arent? Every single religion has always procliamed their god to be the real one...doesnt that tell you something? You're welcome to your judgemental condemnation wrapped up under the guise of what god does or doesnt say is a sin, personally it turns my stomach and i consider it to be a gross betrayal of humanity.
