    well crete was always a part of greece, so let us not make the distinction between greece and the greek islands. I say this because in england i heard something good. I asked a girl if she had ever visited greece and she said no i haven't but i have visited the greek islands. So this means that i never went to Great Britain, i went to england.

    • When the Minoans were around there WAS a distinction between the mainland and the islands....Greece was not always united.
