Is the inner core perfectly spherical? How do we know?

    Since the earth is not round - it bulges out around the equator because it spins - I would assume that the core follows the same principle and is more like a sphere that has been squished from the North and South poles. I have no actual data to support this but it might be possible to find out using seismic data. Hope this helps...
