Help answer this question below.

I have a Dell dimension 2400. i put a different hard drive in it and now when it starts to boot, it stops loading at a point that says" Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." and it will not go past that point. What can I do?

    you pretty much screwed your computer over by replacing the hardrive. you other software like your mother board and video card is designed specifically to run with only one type of hardrive. your old hardrive was compatible but the one you have now won't work unless you switch out your video card and motherboard as well

    • Old question but the answer given is just not true. Whatever was causing the problem, it was NOT because he had put another hard drive into the machine - though it may be that it was incorrectly configured and /or needed to be reformatted.
