While admittedly I was immediately skeptical upon hearing this question, after doing a lot of research into the subject, I did find out some interesting facts.

First, even with people who believe that eating honey is a treatment for allergies and hay fever, it is extremely important to note that the honey they are referring to is raw, unrefined honey. In that state it still has all the pollens, bacteria, and molds (yes I said mold) that occurs in raw honey before it is sent off to be refined. So eating honey that you get from a grocery store which has virtually zero pollen in it, simply won't do anything according to those who believe in the method. In fact, you would have to get to the honey right after it is created by the bees.

Secondly, there is much debate about the entire theory of this on the internet, and even with doctors. Most people are of the opinion that eating something in your digestive system is not going to cure anything airborne. However, there are people who swear by that method.

I myself cannot personally comment on the effectiveness of eating raw honey to fight hayfever or allergies. However, I can say, that as will almost any homeopathic remedy, any benefits that were got from such a treatment would be slow and slight. Even those who swear by the method agree that one should start in very small doses and work their way up to larger ones slowly.
