    Yes, it is my experience that the female will finish her heat if she has been bred or not.

    • thankyou, she has mated twice in the last week,on the 11th and 13th day. they tied for forty minutes both times and did it naturally, with no human intervention at all. the thing is it has been 3 days since the last time and she has a brownish/clear discharge now. she is two yrs old. the male is six and an ex stud dog. could she be pregnant or not?

    • It is WAY too early to tell right now, even a vet can't really give an honest answer until at least 3 weeks into pregnancy, and even then it is by ultrasound. She may show you some signs early on that she is pregnant but there is no way to tell if it is a false pregnancy or the real thing. I suggest that you read a couple of websites.       and you should also google "Dog pregnancy", "Canine Pregnancy", and "whelping".
