On my Saturn the serpentine belt comes off all the time and I had to replace a pulley, it only seems to happen in the summer when I run the air. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Sounds like the air conditioner compressor has an alignment problem. if all the belts are not exact and true-running, the belt will be slip in the summer, when the air conditioner is turned on.

Have you taken your car to a dealer? in this case, a backyard mechanic will not do.

    • it may also be any one of the pulleys, my windstar did that, so i replaced the tensioner pulley, and problem solved

    • I have a 1997 saturn sl2 was running the air yesterday belt came off also. I bought this car for $250.00 with 180,000.00 miles, the belt was off at the time i bought it. Put it back on and that was in January 2011. Its now June 2011 was pulling out of street up hill with air on and it came off. I lost power turned off air and gained power arrived home was running little hot. Any suggestions?
