I was indirectly accused on taking money from the Petty Cash float in the office safe once; I admit it looked bad....I was the only one there who knew the combination when the money went missing. I was mortified....I couldn't prove that I didn't do it, just as the company accountant couldn't prove that I did....
All was revealed the following week when one of the Field Officers came into the office and announced that he had taken his expenses money out of the safe (which was unlocked & the accountant was out of the office) and forgotten to put his receipt in! I never got an apology though!

    • I'm glad you were exonerated:) The guy sounds like a jerk for not apologizing for his mistake.
