Buddha said that desire is the root of all suffering. But what is the root of desire?

    Knowledge. We covet what we don't have, and if we don't know we don't have it, we can't desire it. Ignorance is bliss.

    • Nah. We also desire more of what we have and like, and less of what we have and dislike.

    • Wrong. It is wrong views and ignorance that create all avoidable suffering. From ignorance and wrong views come attachment, lust, craving, desire, etc. An incorrect way of seeing life and reality and ourselves are what bring us to our harmful actions and habits. Coveting what you don't have is something an ignorant, delusional person does, not a disciplined learned person. That's just common sense.
