If animals weren't meant to be eaten they wouldn't be made of meat. They arn't tortured in slaughterhouses. The methods used are effective and quick. If you want to see torture look at the way dogs are treated before being killed for food in other countries.

    • These are just questions that I keep hearing and was curious of others opinions. Defiantly there are other countries that have harsher treatment toward their livestock.

    • according to some people a co2 chamber would be humane because the animal would fall asleep but they still suffocate and there is no way of telling if they suffer or not.

    • you say "if animals weren't meant to be eaten they wouldnt be made of meat."? ok, then its ok for me to say, "If humans weren't meant to be eaten, we wouldnt be made of meat."
oh and have did you know that chickens at some fast food restuaunts have their heads cut off while they are still alive and awake? They are dragged through scalding hot water to remove their fethers while still alive and awake. At many factories each chicken is given the space of a standard piece of paper to live in their whole lives. which usually only last about two months in cruel conditions with ammonia fumes. Did you know a McDonald hamburger can contain meat from 50 different cows? Did you know that many animals (cows and chickens included) are hung upside down by shackles before slaughter, resulting in painful broken bones and bruises?

    • So it's okay to kill cows, pigs, and chickens, but it's not okay for other countries to kill dogs for their food source? Please help me understand why it is you make this distinction between dogs (which no one should ever eat because you couldn't bear to imagine a dog being raised in it's own feces or shoved into a crate and then shot in the head, hung upside down, cut open, and skinned) and cows, pigs, and chickens (which can be raised unnaturally, neglected and abused, and killed in some of the most gruesome ways).

As long as you still get to eat your favorite foods and don't have to see or imagine the pain the animals went through before you shoved them into your face, it's okay right?
