My (now) husband proposed to me with a cheapy Wal-Mart ring that I love more then any of the other jewelry I have. I wore it for two years before finally tying the knot! When we did get married we both ended up just getting bands because we couldn't afford what we REALLY wanted.

So no, it was great that I had a ring but would not of been a big deal if I hadn't had one. I still love him the same!
