Why do so many people make fun of the French? Is it just the US?

    France is an extraordinary country and sticks out, so it's an easy target. Often is said: "we like France, except for the French."

    I make fun of the French too, but then again I make fun of everything and anyone including myself.

      Being Dutch myself I know exactly what you mean!
      I've got a few French friends and quite some acquaintances, and they actually all laugh at this expression and fullheartly agree!
      Like you I don't really mean what I say and just make fun of the lot!
