I'm in Salt Lake right now, and I just noticed a lot of different symbols on the outside of the Temple such as the big dipper and like two hands shaking. What do they represent?

LDS Apologist: "One of the more well-used and worn-out attacks from our critics has been the Church’s use of the symbol of the pentagram..." OK, why DOES the LDS Church prominently use this & other occultist symbols on it's Temples and not the cross?
