I guess each persons experience of addiction is different. My Dad pushed his whole family away with alcohol, and my partner has pushed me and his family away in the past and I have pushed family away in the past from using weed (out of shame).

thats sad. I know people who do marijiuana and they like pull everyone to them. They are only stand-offish when they don't have any. They are very social, and I have had to push them away just because they are a little too social for me.

that's not true. i've been smoking marijuana for 2 years now, and once my parents found out we started smoking together. my mom and i are really close now that i don't have to hide things from her, and my mom and dad, who used to hate each other, smoke together now sometimes. marijuana brought my family together; it didn't tear it apart.

I appreciate that in life, things are different for different people. I am glad your family is closer together, but if my family knew what I had been doing for 11 years (smoking), then it would not bring us closer together, they would be disappointed and upset. It may not be true for you, but it is my truth.

That's true. Everybody's different. I'm just trying to get people to realize that marijuana is not as awful as you learn in school and such. Does anyone else notice that in health class they're like "Don't do coke, don't do heroin, DON'T DO MARIJUANA-YOU'LL DIE!!" Hello, coke and heroin are sooooo much worse than pot. A little pot never killed anyone.

A little pot in itself didn't do anything, but what happens when you run out and you want a buzz? Then you try something else that you can get, like coke, or heroin, before you know it you're just another statistic.

That's not necessarily true. I've been smoking marijuana for like 2 years. (And I have a 3.9 GPA, by the way.) And I've never done any other drug. It's only people who take it too far that that happens to. It's a choice you make.

im not gunna lie, im a stoner...i literally smoke everyday. some days i smoke a lot, some days i smoke a tinyyyy bit, but i always smoke lol. anyway point being, even with me being a stoner, im not distant at all. i have a good social life and family life as well. the marijuana plant has sooooo many other purposes and benefits for it, its like incredible....
just take these numbers in...deaths caused by alcohol each year:75000 or some shit. deaths caused by marijuana:0 goose egg motha fuckaaaa!

Were you high when you posted this 3 times? Just kidding man ;). I smoke the shit everyday as well, and I have always been very productive. My parents didn't like it when they found out (I was 17), and that cased some distance and tension, but now that I have moved out and carried on with my life (obtaining a Diploma in Hospitality Management and a superb full0time job), they see that it is not at all as damaging as they thought it to be. We are very close now and talk openly about drugs.
