Not a good thing you are proposing here, letting the familities profit from the killings of criminals.
Furthermore, i would be surprised if any TV network would pick up the coverage.

You're reading DEATH PENALTY- Most states say that executions are too expensive and that is why the criminals stay on death row so long. Do you think that we should make executions "PAY PER VIEW" to cover the cost and give the left over money to the families?

Sadly I think it woud get very high Neilsen ratings.

The injured parties are often awarded damages in civil courts, but have no way to collect. I cite the OJ case and his 33 million dollar judgment, yet to be paid. This is not profit, it is recompense for lose of loved one, their lifetime income, etc.

True, Mirage RF. When broadcasting executions, the families don't PROFIT, they are COMPENSATED. But I still see it as a last resort; when there's no job on the chaingang, nor a kidney to spend...I think criminals should pay for all "damage" they cause, instead of innocent citizens by insurance premiums. Money=labour=livetime/lives too...

I think broadcasting an execution would just be wrong.

KDAWWG: As I recall my answer, I did call it horrific. If not, i should have. Really just reacting to the word profit vs damages.
