Should I spank my 15 year old son for stealing? I made him return the item he took, but I don't think he really cared.

You're reading How is the proper way to spank a kid? With hand, paddle, switch, belt, ping pong paddle, or something else? Over underware, bare, or over pants? How many smacks?

according to federal law in the united states, spanking, per se, is NOT abuse...

"Fact: It is legal in all 50 states for a parent to spank, hit, belt, paddle, whip or otherwise inflict punitive pain on a child, insofar as the corporal punishment does not meet the individual state’s definition of 'child abuse'."

Well great...the USA gives everyone the right to hit their kids. Have a field day people.

yes, the govt. gives us the right to raise children as we see fit as parents, to an extent...i've already lost countless freedoms regarding what i can and cannot do IN MY OWN HOUSE because someone, somewhere is offended by it, although what i do with my life, in my house, has no effect on him/her...if you people keep pressing for laws for every little thing that you think is wrong, because someone's opinion is that it's abusive or offensive or whatever, you all are going to one day wake up without any rights to make any decisions for yourself whatsoever in this country...my father was not physically abusive, but he spanked me...my grandfather was one of the most loving men i have ever met in my life, and he spanked his children...it was discipline, not beatings, nor hitting, nor a way to release anger, nor an act of abuse...discipline creates strong individuals, ask the military...
so, do what you think is right in your house and/or regarding your family and leave me and mine alone...
