I would suggest that you examine the reasons you "drink a lot." Is it to get drunk? Are you physically addicted to drinking? Have you ever been able to stop for a length of time?
If the answer to these questions are yes, yes, and no, respectively, I'd say you don't have a great chance at success.
Speak with your doctor about Antibuse or other alcohol-related medications that might help you. But first, please examine why you "love to drink," and what effects this has on the rest of your life and relationships.
