Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 1993 Ford Taurus. On the bottom of the oil pan there is a drain plug and above the drain plug is a sensor or some kind The wire broke off and now the oil light stays on. Could this be the problem why the light is on all the time?

On my 1993 Ford 3.8 engine I have an oil light that stays on all the time. One answer was just twist the wires together and the light would go out. My problem is I only have one wire going into the sensor.I removed the sensor and cleaned out the old pigtail that was all chewed up and rotted. There was a center pin in the sensor and I used an allagator clip on the center pin and the sensor wire but nothing The light is still is on. Any more ideas? Thanks Guys
