How many possible combinations of notes are there in a standard page of sheet music?

    It's an almost infinate number. It's the same as asking "how many combinations of letters can there be on a page?". Even if you restrict it to what is commonly considered as "musical" combinations (ie not just random notes) the number is almost endless.

    Makes you wonder why so many songs sound the same!
