At what age did you find your first grey (gray) hairs? How did you react?

    I was in my early 20's when I found my first grey hair. After that, they started to sprout regularly. It runs in my family that the women get early greys. My mom's hair was a beautiful silver white. However, I didn't want grey hair in my 20's, so my daughters would pluck them out and save them up until they had enough to make wigs and hairpieces for their Barbie dolls. How's that for an innovative use for grey hairs? Now I have half and half grey hair, but I color it once a month. It got to the point where if I pulled out any more greys, I would be bald. I hate grey hair on me, since my skin is fair and it makes me look pale and washed out. If I had silver hair and blue eyes like my mom, I wouldn't care, but my grey just looks dull. When I color it, it's bright and shiny and looks healthy. I use both Revlon and Clairol products that have shine built in to the color. That's more than you ever wanted to know about grey hair, isn't it? LOL!

    • Yeah - I know what you mean about the color (gray vs white) with the eyes and the complexion. White seems older than gray, doesn't it?

    • Not really. My mom's was a silvery-white, and very shiny. She looked much younger than her age. Besides, some young ladies make their hair white or platinum blonde. White hair can look young if it goes with the complexion, and if it's shiny.
