After a breakup, when do you know you're ready to be involved in a relationship again?

A common rule of thumb is to give yourself a month for every year you were together. I would also recommend that you enjoy being alone, that is enjoy your own company until you know that you have all those feelings reeled in before you decide you want to start looking again.
Falling for someone right after a breakup is caused by not giving yourself time to do this.
