Best lower back muscle tension release comes from exercise.

    Not golf, not swimming.

I have had three back surgeries. the first, in the 70's, used the old procedure of cutting the back muscles in order to reach the vertabrae. i have suffered for years because of this.

So, each morning i have an excercise routine that has kept me going for years.

Lying on my back in bed, i grab my knees and pull my legs to my chest........50 times.

This works for me and has for years.

Stretching the lower back muscles is the key that holds everything together.

    • are you saying golf and swimming are not exercise?

I'm surprised that pulling your knees to your chest works for you. The morning is not the best time to exercise the back, as it 'swells' with fluid over night that can add extra stress to the tissues. But if it works, who am I to argue?
