What is the difference between ego and self respect?

    Ego is how great you think you are.

    Self respect is how great you know you are.

    • Dont you think, that defination of self respect will turn into ego soon because, it says "how great u know u r"
      but have anybody known greatness of himself completely ? sometimes its over judged or underjudged so there I m confused with ego's defination.
