actually it depends on the person that gets the piercing or piercings. Like milkhoney said, it has a lot to do with your culture. Some cultures get them for religious reasons, others to symbalize beauty and ect. Alot people just use piercings to make a feature about them stick out. For example, a lip piercing would draw attention to your lips. As for bowlermommy07's answer, your an idiot for saying that.
