Why are points allowed to be deducted just because someone doesn't agree with your answer when the question asked for your opinion?

    Maybe because it would not an interesting site to many people unless they could belittle others. I have only given one person a negative rating, and that was because they answered a legit question/not mine with an answer that was meant to be hurtful, cruel and hateful. I normally see a negative rating and give them points. I think everyone is entitled to their own different opinions. It's just too bad some people cant understand that.
