No, it means two things are very similar, just as though created from the same peice of material. "John McCain and George Bush are cut from the same cloth" is the current political statement being used by Democrats to express why they won't vote for him.

We should teach young children how to respect themselves. Maybe there would be no abused wives or death from drug overdose. Could it work?

There is something about self-inflicted tragedy that's sadder than uncontrolled tragedy. Drug overdose/earthquake. Preventable/Un. Agree?
