If I boot up and power down the computer constantly will it wear the computer out faster?

    This is to mike blair. Thanks for answering my question. The reason I turn off the computer is because it safes on electricity when it's not actually on. Sometimes in order to get out of something I have to restart the computer. Some people I hear do leave their computer on 24/7. I do have the computer I use set up so that it will be asleep if I don't use it in 5 minutes. I think that is what you call it. Yes, I am using XP. Where did you get the info you shared?
