What is negative enthalpy change?

    When a reaction has a negative enthalpy change it meanst that the reaction has more than enough energy to proceed. When many weak bonds make few strong bonds then the change in enthalpy is usually very big. When there is a negative enthalpy change it is said to be an exothermic reaction.
