    Men wearing earrings is pretty much mainstream now. No different from men letting their hair grow long back in the '60s when I was in high school. I'm 56, have both ears pierced, do not appear in the least effeminate and have received compliments about my earrings -- along with a little good-natured teasing from a few of my friends. Why do I wear earrings? For the same reason I wear any other article of clothing, jewelry or the like: because I like how it looks. Some people need to lighten up and get a life.
