You're reading My 4 y/o daughter has been calling her vagina her "tooshie". I tried to tell her that her tooshie is her butt. What word should I tell her is her vagina w/o being vulgar? I don't want her to be confused but she needs to understand what the difference is.
Comments
She doesn't talk about it, but she'll be starting Kindergarten this year & I don't want her to get confused if her teacher tells her to sit on her tooshie. It's not so bad calling them by their anatomical names, but she can't pronounce vagina. I think I'm going to stick w/ her "privates" until she can say vagina, but I have told her that is what it is really called.

When my daughter was younger, I was explaining how we wash our whole body in the tub. Somehow she thought her vagina was called her "body", but she was around two, so I didn't correct her at the time. Later, she had a hard time when I'd say, "dry off your body." That's when I decided to just teach her the real name for it and that she only talks about it at home, it wasn't a problem.
