    O gosh, now we have another group of crazies on AB of all places!

    Here's my view: YES! we are much safer, this war has ADVANCED defence technology in 5 years what would normally take 20 years of regular time (couldn't really call it peace). We have the most advanced technology in every field in the world! We are the most advanced country, politically, technologically, militarily, etc. IN THE WORLD! Let's look at numbers from 2nd half of 2k6 (these are rough and i've gotten them from grouprv and other places)

    American soldier deaths in the war: aprx. 700-900
    Arab SOLDIER death: aprx. 25-40 thousand.
    Its important to say soldier since I have met NUMEROUS people who say we are killing civilians. Obviously there will be unnecessary casualties in war, but that happens in every war.

    To those that say we will be killed by religious maniacs, I say this:
    Wait 2 or so generations for the current arab extremists to die. The civilized ones already accept our presence in the arab world.

    To those who say that we will be infiltrated from the inside:
    Would you want to blow yourself up if someone walked up to you and told you to?

    To those who do NOT support the war:
    What, will giving the arab world another reason to say we are weak solve anything? When have politics affected terrorist and other's actions (e.g. N Korea).

    To those who say China will become a superpower:
    What, old soviet technology and an economy consisting of my plastic wrap and drinking straws will stand a chance to its consumer? Embargo=dead chinese

    EDIT @ midnight: quick addition, if you think that, for some incredibly stupid reason we are getting beaten militarily, ask yourself this: are you thinking about serving for a little bit, or are your relatives serving, at least for 4 years?
    Obviously I'll reciever retaliation in the form that i should be serving if i use that argument, but i'm a bit too young to enter the army. When i cna, i'll be in the reserve.

    • i definitely agree...but could you pleeze tell me where you get 40,000 dead arab fighters...i have been looking for a reliable number for a long time and all i get is the BS...oh we have only killed 2,00-2,500.
      ....i also think it is possible we will have problems from the inside if we don't secure our borders.
