You're reading Do you think that predictions in Revelation are really coming true?
Comments
Oh ye of no faith.
by wfbrad on February 13th, 2007
Oh ye of no inteligence.
by Inspector Javert on February 13th, 2007
Jesus already rose again. That's not a Revelation prophecy, that's already happened. We're waiting on His Second Coming; we have hope because of His ressurrection.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 23rd, 2007
Agreed. (With Jevert, certainly not with saved_by_grace)
by weezypops on April 23rd, 2007
Oh? Really? So when did Jesus become a zombie? Are you refering to the whole Easter bit, or something else?
by Inspector Javert on April 23rd, 2007
No, He didn't become a zombie. He took His life back up again like He said He would 3 days after His death.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 23rd, 2007
So, he came back to life like a zombie is basicaly what you're saying?
by Inspector Javert on April 23rd, 2007
I wouldn't say it like that because He wasn't like some sort of undead monster or anything. He came back to life. He did still have the nail prints in His hands, feet, and the peircing in His side, though. He later ascended to heaven and is physically in heaven continually making intercession for us at the right hand of God. Spiritually, He is here on earth in the Person of the Holy Spirit and is also indwelling the hearts and bodies of all those that are saved.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 23rd, 2007
Let me explain this to you,in the following manner.
A) Zombies are people who come back from the dead.
B) Jesus came back to the dead.
C) Jesus is a zombie.
by Inspector Javert on April 23rd, 2007
Here is the definition of "zombie" in the Webster's New Dictionary of the English Language: "a person who is believed to have died and been brought back without speech or free will." So, no, I wouldn't say He was a zombie, but He did come back to life. Otherwise, we would have no hope. If Jesus were dead, then how could He be our Saviour? We'd all be lost forever.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 23rd, 2007
Or we'd just just have to stop believing in fairy tales and get on with real life.
by weezypops on April 23rd, 2007
Jesus is real and the Bible falls short of being a "fairy tale".
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 24th, 2007
Evedience, my dear, is everything. So, please, I beg you, insted of telling us that some thousand year old book is ampel evedience, even though the first mention of Jesus in any book was fifty to ninty some years after his suposed death...
by Inspector Javert on April 26th, 2007
There is plenty of evidence that the Bible is true, both scientifically and historically, as well as prophetically. And what do you mean His "suppossed" death? What do you think happened to the Lord Jesus around 2,000 years ago if He did not ever die?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 26th, 2007
I didn't say there wasn't any historical facts in the bible, I'm asking for proof of God and Jesus doing miracles, et cetera.
by Inspector Javert on April 27th, 2007
I, and every other truly born-again Christian, are proof. (I'm talking about real Christians who actually believe, live, and stand for what they believe in., not hypocritical people. Although we all, myself included, are sometimes guilty of hypocrisy.) Salvation is a miricale. Also, look at all the predictions the prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ made that have come true and are coming true. Don't you find it strange that the whole world is trying to disprove the Bible and that the whole world is attacking Christ's Deity? Don't you find it strange that all of the great prophecies from one Man and the world's attack on Him are just coencidences?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 27th, 2007
Hyprocits? The world is filled with them. And what makes you so special? What makes all other Christans hypoctits, hm? And no, any prophcy made in a book 2000 years old that are so incredibly vauge are bound to happen. Somewhat like horoscopes, if you will... it all depends on how you look at it. Anything that happened is mere concidence. And no, I don't find it odd that people are attacking christanity... why sould I? Is it odd? It's been going on for centuries, it's nothing new - Hell, everyone attacks any relegion they don't beleive in... most people, anyways. So, what's you entire point?
by Inspector Javert on April 27th, 2007
Yes, the world is filled with hypocrites, and I said that I too have been guilty of hypocrisy. I'm not more speciel than anyone else. I'm just a sinner saved by the grace of God. I deserved to die and go to the lake of fire forever, but Christ paid the penalty for me so that I could be saved. I don't believe that the propehecies of the Bible being fulfilled is a coincidence. It's easy for me to tell that the end is near because of apostasy in the world today, as well as the things going on in politics and religion (One world religious veiws, one world government, etc.) that are setting up for the Beast.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 27th, 2007
The world has been in turmoil like this for a long, long time! Tell me, when the Mongols invaded Europe, the world didn't end, did it? Nor was all over when Napoloen started his take over of the western world. And with the two world wars, Hitler, et cetera, things didn't end! Things went on! Christ isn't coming back - the dead never do... just accept that, leave the fantasy behind, open your eyes to the light of day, of reality!
by Inspector Javert on April 27th, 2007
Far from fantasy my friend. Jesus is coming back sooner than ever now. Following Jesus is a decision you have to make on your own. He has a plan for your life, but you have to trust Him as your Lord and Saviour. I just hope you someday realize how much he loves you before it's eternally too late. If He were to take His people out right now, I'd be gone and you would be left behind for the Great Tribulation. In this period of the end times, you will either worship the Beast or you will die. Either way, I doubt you'll make it out alive or saved for that matter. Jesus is the only way to escape judgement my friend.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 28th, 2007
Let me ask you one question. Does Jesus love me, does God love me? And for the record, I do not worship 'the Beast' as you say. I don't worship anything at all.
by Inspector Javert on April 28th, 2007
Yes, Jesus loves you. God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to bled, suffer, and die in your place for your sins. He was forsaken by all, including God the Father, as He died in your place taking the penalty for your sins at Calvary. Although you may not worship anything at all right now, if you don't accept Christ before He takes His people out of this world, you will worship the Beast in the Great Tribulation. Revelation 13:8 says: "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Okay, very good, so we have established that both God and Jesus 'love me. Now, if this is the case, if they both love me so much, then why will they send me into Hell for not beleiving in them? If they love me so much, then... well, it doesn't seem like they'd do that.
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
No one will go to hell because of God. You send yourself to hell with your own sin and refusing to accept what God did for you at the cross to pay for your sins. God is a holy God. He cannot tolerate sin. No sinner can enter into heaven because it is a perfect place and no imperfect creature can go in. However, God sent His perfect Son Jesus Christ to die for you. Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God's perfect law demands that sin be paid for. The penalty is death. Jesus loves you and purchased a way for you to get into heaven with His own sinless blood. But, you have to accept His atonement.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Ah, but if God loves me so much, then he could prevent it all. True, he may not like sinners in his Holy Kingdom, but all the same - if he really did love us so much, he could take us into Heaven. After all, in the end, no matter what you say, God does make the end decsion. After all... he's God. All powerful, he doesn't have to do it.
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
He is all-powerful, very correct on that. However, remember that He is also holy. Sin is the absence of holiness. Sin is missing the mark of perfection. Sin is what causes death and pain. Sin is what makes us what we are. Sin is what nailed the Creator of the Universe to an old rugged cross. God proved that He loved you at Calvary, Javert. Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God died for you so that you wouldn't have to go to hell. He also gave you a free will to choose if you want to go to heaven with Him or not. Salvation is a free gift and all you have to do is believe, repent, and ask for it.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
And if I don't want to? If I'm the greatest person on Earth, like Christ in every respect except I do not worship God, will I still go to Hell?
And besides, isn't Pride a sin? I mean... if I'm going to be cast into a firey pit for all eternity by a 'loving' God beacuase I don't bow down and worship... I mean... isn't that kind of prideful?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
No it isn't proud because God deserves to be worshipped. Jesus Christ gave you life and He bled, suffered, and died for you so that you could have eternal life and reign with Him in heaven forever. He loves you and He has a plan and will for the life that He has given you. It doesn't matter how moral of a person you are or can be because the Bible says there is none that doeth good. Your works and morality, even religiousity if you were religious, cannot get rid of your sin. Only the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ can wash away your sins.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
That was not the question. The question was what if I was a prefect person, like Christ in ever aspect, except for the religous bit. And don't give me something like 'well, no one's like that', becasue this is hypothetical.
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
Then in that case you would not be perfect because you did not worship God Almighty. The Bible says "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve." (see Luke chapter 4, verse 8.)
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Well, if I'm going to Hell because I won't worship some stuck up, conceided, spoiled brat of a God, who will make me pay for all eternity, then I renounce him as my creator.
You see, this is why so many people don't like religon and go atheist... if you don't give into the whims of some supernatural fairy tale character, you will suffer in the most horrfic ways for all eterinty! Does that sound fair to you?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
Yes it sounds fair to me. He is our Creator. He has every right to be worshipped, and what rights do we really have of our own? We rightfully deserve to die and go to hell for our sins but Jesus took the penalty for us so that we wouldn't have to. He loves you and He died for you. He created you for a purpose.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Okay, so why don't we worship our parents then, hm? They created us. And... no, no it's really not fair. Because someone made you, made everyone and everything, prehapse a thanks, but not reverance.
Besides... hm... yes, allow me to ask you this. Did God create everything?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
No, I'm not saying we should worship our parents. They may have had me, but God is the One who created that process and God is the One who created my soul and breathed the breath of life into me. As for what else you said, The Bible says this about the Lord Jesus Christ: "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1:16-17)
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Okay, so we have no established that God has created everything. Now, my second question to you is as follows - is God all knowing and all powerful?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
Yes, He is all-knowing and all-powerful.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Okay, very good. We have therefore established that
A) God created all.
B) God is all knowing.
and
C) God is all powerful.
Now, of course, I have one more question.
Is God good?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
Yes, God is good.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Okay.
So why would a good God create evil? And, second of all, why would he create Satan?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
Evil...interesting question. Evil can have different meanings. One of them being "bad" such as bad, or "evil", things happening around us. God does allow bad things to happen and He does this for a good reason. There can also be other meanings though. Have you ever thought that maybe evil is the absence of God's love and goodness just as sin is the absence of holiness? Or that evil as we know it is missing the mark of God's goodness and love as sin is missing the mark of God's perfection and holiness? As for why God created Satan, remember that Satan was originally good before he commited the sin of pride.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
But if God was so good, then we could live in a perfect Paradise, couldn't we? And I've already read the story of the atheist professor, so I've already heard that bit.
And now, here is why I asked if God was all knowing and all powerful... now, Satan was origanly an angel, yes, I know - BUT - God is all knowing too, remeber? He should of known as well, or am I mistaken?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
We did live in a perfect paradise originally, and we can again if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. God did know that Satan would turn bad because God is all-knowing. But, remember that God also had it settled before creation that He would send His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and raise Him from the dead to be our Saviour. Satan knows that his horrible fate is coming soon and he's trying to keep as many people from being saved as possible to take them with him. I'm praying for you, Javert, that you may be saved before it is eternally too late.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
What's the use of praying if there's nobody who hears? And besides, it doesn't much matter - I can't be saved, according to teh bible. I've commited an unforgivible act.
And, what's more - God knew that Satan would fall, and because of this. he tempted Adam and Eve, et cetera. So, basicaly, if God hadn't created Satan, we would still be in paradise and what is more there wouldn't be any 'evil' or 'bad' or... anything. Everything would be good, yet God apparently doesn't want us to be happy.
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
I don't have all the answers, but I know that God is good. As for what you said about you not being able to be saved, are you talking about the unforgivable sin; blasphemy against the Holy Ghost? May I ask, how is it that you committed this sin?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
You don't have answers because they do not exist. There is no God and therefore, no answers.
And yes, that's what I am refering to. As to how, I simply said "I renounce the Holy Spirit," and went on a little rant.
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
There are different beliefs and interpretations about the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. Some believe that it means attributing miracles of God the Holy Spirit to the works of the Devil, wheras some believe that it is continual rejection of Christ and the Holy Spirit's conviction. As for what you said before that; I don't have the answers because I'm a mere human being, like an insect compared to God Almighty. From a scientific veiwpoint, saying there is no God isn't even logical. It's been proven that the Universe is not eternal, it started sometime. Spontaneous generation has been disproven. Life only comes from life, not non-life. I'm still praying for you.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 29th, 2007
Well, you might as well stop. It offends me, it really does. Praying for a poor, ignorant soul... I'm not. I just have different beleifs.
And God is illogical and therefore impossible. And, if God does exist... he's a sick, sick freak.
And, let me ask you this - I had a friend a very long time ago, a very good boy he was... but he died when he was six, because of cancer. He also didn't accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. His mother before him, antother very good person died of cancer before her son, and the father died aftert he death of his son... all very, very good people, yet the were Jewish... so, are they burning for not accepting Christ?
by Inspector Javert on April 29th, 2007
I'm very sorry for your loss. As I said before, following Jesus Christ is a decision you have to make for yourself. I hopw that you realize how much He loves you and you accept Him one day. If you don't though, that's your decision. You have been given free will to choose. I'm not going to force anything on you. God saved me when I was 10 years old, six years ago. I not trying to act like I'm better than you or smarter than you at all. If anyone deserves to burn in hell it's me. I love Jews. My Saviour was a Jew. I'm sorry if they died not knowing Christ. That's heartbreaking. Although I'm not so sure about small children if they have not reached the age of accountabilty. I'm sorry for your loss and I'll leave you alone if you want. Thank you for the conversation and God bless you!
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 30th, 2007
My, my, no, no! Please, I find this whole conversation very, very intersting... it's always nice to speak with someone who will try to give me answers, my aplogies if I come off a bit harsh, I just... have very strong convictions, you understand.
Oh, and you didn't exactly answer me as to weither or not that family is burning in Hell.
by Inspector Javert on April 30th, 2007
I believe that anyone who rejects Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour goes to hell, perhaps with the exception of very small children who maybe have not reached the age of accountability yet. I believe that children can be, and need to be, saved. However, I believe that a child with no understanding, or capability of understanding, of the gospel and of right and wrong will probably go to heaven. Such as babies for example, I believe that when if they die, God saves them when they die because they had no capability of even understanding how to be saved. That's my belief on the matter.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on April 30th, 2007
So some of the nicest people I know are in Hell - very, very good people are burning because they didn't worship the same God? Or... at least they didn't worship his son?
by Inspector Javert on May 1st, 2007
Many nice people are in hell because they died without being saved and thus died in their sins.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 1st, 2007
And that's a loving God?
by Inspector Javert on May 1st, 2007
Yes, because He provided the way for them to go to heaven, the sacriface of His only begotten Son, it was their decision to reject that gift was it not? God gave us free will. If we say "no" to receiving Christ, then we're basicly saying "No thanks, God, I don't want what Christ did for me at the cross as payment for the debt I owe you. I think I'd rather pay it myself for eternity in the lake of fire. But, if we receive Christ, we have everlasting life. How could anyone refuse such a free gift?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 2nd, 2007
Hm... but God created us all, yes? Each indvidual human he created, yes?
by Inspector Javert on May 2nd, 2007
Of course. Jesus Christ created all things. (read John Chapter 1 and Colossians Chapter 1 in the King James Bible for more information.)
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 3rd, 2007
Okay, and did he set the course of each indviduals life as well?
by Inspector Javert on May 3rd, 2007
I'd say that He knew the course, but He gives us the free will to choose to live for Him or not. By the way, this question was asking about predictions in Revelation coming true and another question I had a discussion with you on was about religion. You mentioned the Inquisition, right? Please go to this if you are interested and see if Revelation's prophecies are coming to pass or not: http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/anti1.htm
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 4th, 2007
I shall look at the link tomorrow, for I only have two minutes left on the computer tonight. However, I must say that if God has indeed set the course of each indvidual, yet still we suffer, still there is hell. We have free choice as you say - however, if this is the truth, then how can we ever have free choice? And, what's more, if we don't have free choice, then does that not mean the God is responsible for all evil in the world, all hatrid and wretchedness? Tell me, to this I have curiousty also - do you know there is a god or do you beleive there is a god?
by Inspector Javert on May 4th, 2007
We have a free will because we choose if we want to follow Christ or not. We choose if we want to go to heaven by accepting God's way of salvation for us, His Son Jesus Christ, or go to hell by dying in our sins. Yes, I believe there is a God and at the same time I know there is a God, otherwise I would be an agnostic if I did not know.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 5th, 2007
Before you ask, "How do you know that there is a God?" 1 John 5:10 says this: "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son." You see, Javert, when the Lord Jesus Christ saved my soul, I knew it. When the Holy Ghost came into my heart, I knew God saved me. I have the witness in myself, but I first had to believe He would save me before He would. We are saved by grace through faith. I had to have faith He would save me and that He was real before He would save me. I had faith, not of myself, but from God, and He did save me. God can do the same for you if you just believe Him and what He did for you at Calvary.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 5th, 2007
If God has a plan for all of us, then there is no such thing as free will. If God gave us free will, then he does not have a plan. It can not be both, for the contradict.
And, that isn't evedience. I could just as easily say that I can feel Beethoven in my body, yet that is impossible. When I ask for proof, I mean actual physical, scentific proof.
by Inspector Javert on May 5th, 2007
Actual Scientific proof? Creation. The Big Bang is impossible as well as the Soup theory and all other atheistic theories as to the origin of the universe because they contradict the laws of science. Please go to this if you are interested: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/false_religions.htm#atheist
If some things on this link are a bit offensiveor agressive, my sincerest apolegies.
By the way, we have a free will because we have the option of living for God and fulfilling His plan for our life or not doing so and living for ourselves and sin.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
But how can we fufill a plan if we do not know how it is set up? And, what if someone is only Christan for a little while, and then stops? Does the plan end there? Or what if they are atheist for their entire lives? Was there ever a plan at all? Or if someone became Christan at the end of thier life? Did the plan only begin then?
And, as for Creation being a farce, what evedience do you have?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
I don't really believe that someone who is really saved will just be a Christian for a little while and then stop, at least, they won't be like that for long because Christ, being their Lord and their heavenly Father will draw them, His child back to them even by chastisment and correction, if they are truly saved. I've been backslidden before and that's what my heavenly Father did to bring me back to my senses. As for someone who is atheist for all their life, God did have a plan for them, but they just didn't accept it and live by it.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
As for evidence for Creation. Here is some evidence that the earth is not very old:
"The earth's magnetic field has been decaying so fast that it couldn't be more than about 10,000 years old. Rapid reversals during the flood year and flunctuations shortly after just caused the field energy to drop even faster."
From "Refuting Evolution" By Jonathan Sarfati, Ph.D Pg.113.
Also keep in mind that if man has been "evolving" for millions of years, then why is it that we did not come up with the things (such as technology and scientific discoveries.) we have thousands of years earlier? People have invented new inventions and made scientific research and discoveries and it has usually taken them a few centuries at the most to explain, prove, or disprove them. Why is it that, if we evolved, we didn't discover them previously or earlier?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
I use to beleive in God, Jesus, heaven et cetera, but then I opened my eyes and used rational thought.
And... dear God, don't tell me you beleive the earth is only 6000 years old...
And, what's more, the reason we didn't have all these technoligical advances we do now is BECAUSE of CHRISTANITY. It's a little thing called the Dark Ages, my friend.
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
Yes, I do believe that the earth is only about 6,000 years old at the least or 10,000 years old at the most. I believe that there is strong evidence to prove this. Besides, as I had mentioned before, the Big Bang Theory and the Soup Theory are scientifically impossible because they contradict the scientific fact that life only comes from life, not non-life. As for what you said about the Dark Ages, if we evolved we still would have had thousands of years before that to devolep technology and scientific research as well as increase in learning because the Dark Ages did not occur until a little over 1,000 years ago, didn't they?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Who is to say we have not found the answer then, hm?
And, your bit about the Dark Ages, I am afarid I do not understand what you are saying... we are simple creatures really, and we just didn't have the technolgy developed at that time, and all development stoped at the dark ages... so, forgive me, but I am not to sure as to what exactly you are saying.
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
Javert, what I am saying is that it has only taken us a few centuries to learn new things. For example, doctors used to laugh at other doctors who claimed that washing hands helped kill germs. They finally discovered that it did. But why has it taken millions of years for man to figure out how to watch his hands if he has suppossedly evolved for millions of years?
Why didn't man find out that the world was round a long time ago? It's funny, many religious groups used to believe that the earth was flat. If they would have just read in the Bible in the book of Isaiah, they could've known that God made the earth circular.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
And if you haven't noticed, we were making wonderous progress until the dark ages came about, at which point only religion was correct. And also, the Bible does say that the earth is flat. Matthew 4:8 says "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them" - This is only possible if the world is flat.
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
That's how you are interpreting it, but what if the devil were showing them to Him supernaturally? The devil is not human, remember that, he is/was an angel. He is very powerful, though not as powerful as his Almighty Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible does teach in the Book of Isaiah that the earth is circular.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Then what is God, if not an angel?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
God is God Almighty, the Creator of all things. John 4:24 says: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." He is the Great I AM. He is JEHOVAH.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Okay... so, if God created all things then where did God come from?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
Nowhere. He is eternal. That's one of the reasons He is called "I AM". He is self-reliant, self-existant, and does not need anyone to help Him exist.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Yes, he does. He needs people to exist.
Without faith, what is God other then a story book character?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
No. If every one in the world was an atheist. God would still exist. God still was God when the world did not know Him. John 1:10 says: "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not."
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
But, if no one beleived in him and it stayed that way for a long while, then much like the Greek Gods he would become nothing more - to the entire world, mind you - then a myth.
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
If no one believed in Him for that long, then I believe He wouldn't have to worry about becoming a myth. He would judge them and their sin would send them to the lake of fire forever.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Because he is loving?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
Most definitly He is loving, but He is also holy and righteous. He has provided the Way for us out of His love and grace toward us. If we reject it, we're pretty much asking to be punished for our sins in the lake of fire on Judgement Day.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
We are not asking for it at all. We are just saying that we don't want to be lead around by a fairy tale without any proof in it. He may be 'rightous' but if he will toss anyone into a pit of fire because someone does not beleive in him... then that is not rightous... it's sick.
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
By your understanding, Javert. But, think about God and His holiness, how holy He is. Neither you nor myself are perfect and without sin as God Almighty is. Imagine what a "little" sin (that's what we usually call them, but there are no "little" sins.Sin is sin.) is to Him? He has provided the way for you because He loves you, Javert. Salvation is a free gift. It's God's love gift to you.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
By the way, Javert, you talked about faith and proof. Please go to this if you are interested: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Atheism/I_need_proof.htm
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 6th, 2007
Hm... let me ask you this.
How do we know that God is not evil?
by Inspector Javert on May 6th, 2007
Because He gave His Son Jesus to die for us so that we could be saved. What you are asking is kind of what Satan tried to convince Eve(and pretty much succeeded). The devil, as the serpent, convinced Eve that God was holding something back from them and not wanting them to eat of the forbidden fruit because it would make them as gods. She bought Satan's lie and ate the fruit, along with her husband Adam, and because of that we feel pain, we die, and we are able to go to hell. Because of this, God stepped out of heaven and became a man and died in our place. Does that sound evil?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 7th, 2007
Yes, it does sound very evil and incredibly crule. Here is why... we, in past disscusions, already established that God is all powerful. So, that leads one to think the following - if God is all powerful, then why did he have to send his kid to die for us, to forgive us? Why couldn't he do it anyways, why did he have to make his son suffer and pay?
And, secodnly, please consider the following - what if Adam eating the apple along with Eve was actualy a just act, and not one of wickdness and temptation?
by Inspector Javert on May 7th, 2007
For one thing, God is a holy, just, and righteous God. He cannot allow sin to go unpunished or be in His presence. The only thing that can redeem sin is sinless blood. Jesus was not forced to die, He did of His own free will for you and me. And, how could eating the tree of knowledge of good and evil be a just act if it was stealing?
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 7th, 2007
Why does God need sinless blood to was sin away? He's God, isn't he?
And, just think of this for a moment if you will. Eve at the apple first, and then tempted Adam, correct? And they both knew that the punishment was terrible and wicked... death, as it were.
Who is to say that Adam was not tempted, but he did it out of compassion, he did it out of /love/ for Eve, to take the fruit, so he may join the one he loved in the wretched punishment?
by Inspector Javert on May 7th, 2007
Either way, they both sinned. God is holy. It is His nature. Sin must be paid for because it is rebellion against God Almighty. Remember, God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son are one. So that means that God died for us. He loved us enough to die for us so that we could be redeemed, Javert, so that you could be redeemed. That is love, not evil.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 7th, 2007
Why did anyone have to die at all? Why couldn't he just forgive us, why did there have to be bloodshed?
by Inspector Javert on May 7th, 2007
How could He still be a holy and righteous God if He let serial killers, child molesters, theives, drunkards, adulterers, whoremongers, liars, and everything else that we are, or are at least capable of being with our sinful nature, into the kingdom of God?
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 7th, 2007
Because, according to you - he loves us.
What of all the very good people who only don't beleive?
by Inspector Javert on May 7th, 2007
They have chosen to pay their sin debt themselves and not receive Christ who loves them and paid their sin debt for them. They're choosing to spend eternity without God rather than with God. God wants all of us in heaven, but if we don't want to be with Him, He want make us. The more you question these things, Javert, the more Satan will keep you farther and farther away from Christ and His gift of eternal life that He is offering you.
by ...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. on May 7th, 2007
God created us for his entertainment. and though he loved us and blessed us, just as a child to it's father, we spit in his face. we are his creation, his "child" if you will, so when we sin against each other in such a way he is grieved. however he loves us and saw fit to offer us a chance at redemption. God does not allow serial killers, child molesters, theives, drunkards, adulterers, whoremongers, liars in heaven if they seek these actions as a life choice. but if you repent these sins and try your hardest to not commit these offenses again and dedicate your life to spreading His word, he offers an eternity of perfection in His presence as a reward. In revelations it tells us no man knows when the Father comes, but that we should read his teachings and guard our hearts so that we are prepared when Jesus returns for his followers. we are not to seek out the signs and grumblings of man. we are to love God and follow the teachings He has set for us.

God is flawless. the very act of committing a sin is defined as going against God. how can you say he is not righteous? he defines what is wrong and right. it is His universe. we are allowed to live in it to bring Him pleasure. how can you accuse him of false act because of the trangressions of man?
by idunno0234 on August 3rd, 2009
God is flawless? If he is so flawless, wht did he commit mass genocide with Noah? The flooding was not man made. God made us with free will and when we choose to use it, it seems that it is seen as against God. We are chilren of God, made in his image. Therefore, logically, if you are condeming man you are also condeming God.
