Help answer this question below.

My puppy was doing really well with pottying OUTSIDE, now all of a sudden she is acting like she was never trained. She did the same thing a couple of weeks ago and I retrained her, now again... I have never had this happen, any suggestions?

    Well, perhaps you could check out what's been happening on each occasion that your pup reverts. Has something changed? Another dog? Weather? New People or a change in routine? All these things can confuse a pup and cause them to behave as untrained, it can be a stress reaction to these changes. However, you are doing the right thing in retraining and being patient. If you can catch your pup in the act a good way to discipline them is to gently BUT firmly grab onto the scruff of their neck and shake them and growl at them in a very gruff manner. This is what their mums's do or their pack leaders. This let's them know that what they were doing is not acceptable, but you have to catch them in the act - no good later because they won't know what it is for. I still use that technique on my grown up dogs to let them know they are doing something wrong. Still works too. I can say what I like to them, yell and be angry and it doesn't seem to get through but the moment I grab a handful of neck and growl at them - they KNOW they did wrong.
    However, getting back to your puppy. Trying to find out why she had done this may need alittle investigating on your part - if you find it is a stress reaction to a change or (for her) a perceived threat of some sort - don't make too much of a fuss or she won't be able to 'figure it out and get over it'.
