    Jews state that their religion was founded by Abraham when he rejected polytheism (which was his father's belief system) and began promoting monotheism through his belief in one single deity, whom Christians call God, Yaweh, or Jehovah, and to whom Jews refer without typing out the whole name. Example: G-d.
