You're reading How do Mormons explain no archeological evidence of the supposed big battle in New York?
Comments
We now have the ability to locate stables from more than 20 thousand years ago due to the chemical changes caused by the excrement of the horses. We have sattelite data that tells us about asteroid impact craters under a mile of ice on Antarctica. Surely evidence of such a grand battle would not be that difficult to obtain. Somebody should have found it by now!

To support the abilities we have technilogically to determine the activities of ancient peoples, please check out this link http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/01/070103110314.htm

lol... I like that! There is none because it didn't happen, just like the American Indians are not from Jewish decent, they are from Asian decent. DNA proves it, but someone will say that it is wrong or it’s not enough or there were just a very small group, the LDS will always have a response but there responses don't hold water.

So you can write World History by your tests. How interesting! The LDS Church has an actual written history. However, through your scientific tests, you can create a written history. Of course, you come up with the criteria which your test must pass. If the event doesn't pass your test, then it must be false! How convenient for you! You give science too much credit. That will get you in trouble in the end.
I would rather trust in a Being, such as God, that knows all than rely on a man that spent half his life in college, and thinks he is God.
by Rockie on September 25th, 2008
yeah but you are trusting in man, HELLO, the LDS are so human centered it is unreal, you will see one day. I trust science, the laws of the universe which God created, not man. You trust in some silly book and some wacko self centered man, womanizer, thief, lair, scam artiest ect.

Rockie, what actual written history are you referring to? There are many texts on LDS history. If you are referring to the fictional work made up by the charlatan Joseph Smith, that is not an actual history.

Here’s a good web page about DNA Evidence and the Book of Mormon: http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDSFAQ/DNA.shtml
Can you explain what Joseph Smith gained personally by claiming he was a Prophet of God? He took nothing from the Church. He started and ran his own businesses for his monetary needs. He was harassed at home and while travelling by people looking for the Gold Plates and for any other reason his enemies could think of. He was tarred and feathered several times. He was driven from every home he ever built, to the point that he had to declare bankruptcy. And finally, he and his brother Hyrum were murdered in the Carthage Jail.

He gained sexual access to a lot of women in Nauvoo, for instance. Emmea got a touch upset by that. The actual historical record given, by non LDS sources, indicates that Joseph Smith was a charlatan. The LDS church is a great big, very successful scam. As far as their deaths at the hands of a mob, that is often how justice was executed in the frontier regions of the United States. In order to get mobbed you had to piss a lot of people off. As I understand it there were a lot of angry husbands in the mob. Nobody was ever put on trial for his death, were they? Did you know that in the state of Missouri it was legal, according to then existing state law, to kill Mormons until the 1970's? Somehow thay upset the local population in those days. What common Mormon practices have changed since then? How much has the basic doctrine of the church changed since then?

>It is very unlikely that footprints from even the largest army would have survived 1600 years in such an environment<
.
What about their swords? What about their chariots? What about their skeleton?
.
We have Middle Eastern swords, chariots, and skeletons that from the Book of Mormon period and older that support the Bible.
.
Your argument is simply nonsense.
