Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Ghost DOS boot CD that works in every PC but mine. It boots (A:), but can't detect my DVD drive to assign it a drive letter. Ergo, I can't access D:. But only in DOS. What's preventing my drive from being detected by the standard DOS drivers?

When you power up your PC, enter the BIOS Setup. You may have to hit F1, F9, or Delete key to get into BIOS Setup. The proper key will usually display at the very beginning of startup. Once you enter BIOS Settings, look for PnP OS (i.e. Plug and Play Operating System), and disable. Hit ESC until it asks you if you want to exit saving changes. Then hit Y(yes) to save settings and reboot the PC. If I remember right, this should fix your problem.
