Neither. What is more important in a "relationship" is what the other person wants, and deserves - Your love, devotion, respect, honesty, faithfulness, and thoughtful consideration. Unless these things are not important to them - - then give them what they want . . . if you are comfortable with what they want. What is really important in a relationship is that both people communicate openly about what they want, that those things mesh with each other's wants, and that each of you put the other person's feelings before your own.

If, and when you ever have children, both of your wants, and desires will take a second place to the needs of your children. Until then, when dating, don't be so picky about getting everything you want. Just be a good friend, a good listener, and supportive of the other person when they need you the most.
