Question

Help answer this question below.

I've just found out that I'm to be shipped off to some Christian summer camp for a week this summer: Do you think their claims to be "Respectful" can be trusted, or should I (a young atheist) expect a week of agonizingly heavy preaching?

It depends on the camp. Really, you have two things before you.

If you get off lucky, it's a very lax camp where you can do most anything - I have a friend, a very strong Athiest, who loves going to a Jesus Camp since all they do is screw around and do, well... unchristian things.

However, if it is one of those heavy precahing camps, then, well... Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here!

    • Aye, it does really depend on the camp. You might have a bit more experience drawing a bead on their intentions that I, whaddya reckon for the preachy-quotient on this bunch?

    • From the little bit I've seen, I will admit it seems a bit frightening - I'd have to look at it more tomorrow, when it's not one in the bleedin' morning. And I shall do just that.

    • The thing that freaked me out a bit from the get-go was the (hopefully coincidental) fact that they're operating out the same place in Oregon where that Rajneeshee cult had their combound back in the '80s.
