You have to think what is in it after 1964, not much. Totally different today. Colonel Harland Sanders is turning around in his grave.

I also worked at kfc and I have to say the spicen arent all in the dry flour. thats only half. I remember when the chicken delivery came I noticed that the chicken was soaking in an oringish juice that smelled vagly like tomato and chicken broth. it was kind of milky too. maybe contained some kind of dairy. also if you savor the chicken you will find a hint of ketchup chip taste so im sure tomato is defenatly in the mix. also I studdied the flour. I remember little green specs and pepper obviously. But also some orange and red specs, maybe paprika and something else. I dont taste any garlic powder but maybe a hint of onion. Come on guys these herbs and spices are just herbs and spices, together we can figure this out. I am eating KFC right now and analizing the flavours. Oregeno, Paprika, I taste a yellow spice like tumric or curry. Also the inventer of this chicken was a black woman. so lets think of what she would use.

so we know theres flour, salt, pepper, MSG, also I would say baking powder cause the skin is a bit fluffy and crisp. I would guess tumuric or kurry, nutmeg or all spice, oregeno, something red... like paprika. and the remaining are in the marinade... chicken boulion.. and a tomato like maybe just ketchup. Thats Eleven. I think the ketchup is the surprise that I heard of. theres supposed to be some surprieing ingreadients, some we wouldnt expect, and I think its Ketchup in the marinade. I eat alot of jamacain food and there staple spices are nutmeg, cinimon, and all spice. Im sure one or all of these are in the original recepie. What do you think? all of us working together we can figure this out, but I think Im close.

Tomato, chicken broth, ketchup and baking powder may well be in it, but they are not herbs or spices. I have cooked chicken in a flour mix (salt and pepper chicken) which does contain cinnamon and nutmeg, and KFC is no where near that in flavour. I think you may be tasting stuff because you are trying so hard! No offense. Also, unless you use paprika in really high concentrations, it actually has a yellow orange colour in food, not red. The original recipe is not what people are after, they are after the current recipe, which may well be different to the original one (just like coca cola).

I am not suprised it was Salt, pepper, flour, and MSG. The 11 "secret herbs and spices has not been use since the company was sold in 1954.

Dear ranman, Neither Col. Sanders nor his daughter were black. The biography Margret wrote "Eleven Secret Herbs and a Spicy Daughter" (She wanted to call the book "Damn it Daughter" but the publisher would not let her), said she was called the "Chief Taster" while the Col. was tested different ingredents.
