Help answer this question below.

Have independent sources verified the authenticity of the scriptures found by Joseph Smith? If not, why?

    Unless you are including the eleven other individuals close to Joseph Smith who testified they saw the original documents (i.e. the golden plates), not that I know of. Without having the original documents, I'm not sure how anyone would be able to verify it.

    • Actually, it was four others that saw Moroni. The Three Witnesses whose testimony is in the BofM and David Witmer's mother.

    • The anwswer was the 4 witnesses, all independent of Joseph Smith

    • All of the witnesses broke with Joseph and the Church. Not one ever recanted his testimony.

    • AND, they didn't see the plates with their Physical eyes. They later claimed that they saw them with their "Spiritual Eyes" whatever the hell that means.
